Section 2, Andhra Pradesh Devadasis (Prohibition of Dedication) Act, 1988 [S2J-FWQ]

2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "child" means a person who has not completed eighteen years of age; (b) "Committee" means the Committee constituted under this Act; (c) "Protection Officer" means an officer appointed by the State Government under this Act; (d) "institution" means an institution registered under this Act; (e) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (f) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
