Chennai, dated the 3rd March, 2026

GOVERNMENT ORDER

Subject: Dealing in second-hand goods by dealers in second-hand goods under the Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937, regarding.

1. In the circumstances reported by the Sub-Inspector of Police, the Government of Tamil Nadu, after careful examination, hereby orders that every dealer in second-hand goods carrying on dealing in second-hand goods shall furnish Form V to the State Government within thirty days.

2. The matter has been examined. Every dealer in second-hand goods carrying on dealing in second-hand goods shall make an application in Form V to the State Government within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. It is, accordingly, clarified that a separate application shall be made in respect of each place at which dealing in second-hand goods is undertaken, and the State Government shall dispose of it within thirty days of its receipt.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this government order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
