STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use by person converting agricultural lands.

2. The matter has been examined. Every person converting agricultural land carrying on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural use shall make an application in Form 5 to the Tahsildar within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within thirty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Revenue Department, Government of Gujarat.
