STANDING ORDER

To

All Chiefs Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad,

Subject: The collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Ports Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax.

2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of a Panchayat tax carrying on the collection of Panchayat taxes shall make an application in Form 3 to the Panchayat Samiti within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad shall ensure that work order is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Panchayat Samiti within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Ports Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
