STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Andhra Pradesh Act 13 of 1994), the Law Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 5 to the Panchayat Samiti within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Panchayat Samiti within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
