STANDING ORDER

To

All Chiefs Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad,

Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat.

2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 7 to the Block Development Officer within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad shall ensure that tax receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Block Development Officer within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
