STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Guards,

Subject: The wholesale vend of liquor by wholesale vendors under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Home Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the wholesale vend of liquor by wholesale vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every wholesale vendor carrying on the wholesale vend of liquor shall make an application in Form H to the Excise Commissioner within ten days, accompanied by a fee of fifty thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Guard shall ensure that excisable article is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Excise Commissioner within ten days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of West Bengal.
