STANDING ORDER

To

All Registrars of the Authority,

Subject: The management of common areas by associations of allottees under the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Maharashtra Rent Control Act, 1999 (Maharashtra Act 18 of 1999), the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the management of common areas by associations of allottees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every association of allottees carrying on the management of common areas shall make an application in Form D to the Authority within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Registrar of the Authority shall ensure that rent receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Authority within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Maharashtra.
