STANDING ORDER

To

All Circle Officers,

Subject: The cultivation of land as tenant by tenants under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the Home Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the cultivation of land as tenant by tenants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every tenant carrying on the cultivation of land as tenant shall make an application in Form 2 to the Tahsildar within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Officer shall ensure that certificate of occupancy is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Tahsildar within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Odisha.
