STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The holding of a fair by licensees of a fair under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Transport Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of a fair by licensees of a fair.

2. The matter has been examined. Every licensee of a fair carrying on the holding of a fair shall make an application in Form 2 to the Panchayat Samiti within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Panchayat Samiti within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
