STANDING ORDER

To

All Assistants Commissioner of Excise,

Subject: The retail vend of liquor by retail vendors under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the retail vend of liquor by retail vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every retail vendor carrying on the retail vend of liquor shall make an application in Form C to the Government of West Bengal within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.

3. The Assistant Commissioner of Excise shall ensure that label is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of West Bengal within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of West Bengal.
