STANDING ORDER

To

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Finance Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 3 to the Sub-Divisional Officer within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of twenty rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Sub-Divisional Officer within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Gujarat.
