Section 18, Geographical Indications of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999 [S1Z-QF9]

18. Registration of registereds user.—(1) Every registered user shall, within six months from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the use of a mark under registration after such commencement, within six months from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Controller in Form 1, accompanied by a fee of one thousand rupees. (2) The Controller shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No registered user shall carry on the use of a mark under registration unless registered under this section.
