Section 4, Central Provinces Tenancy Act, 1898 [S15-B8P]

4. Registration of landlords.—(1) Every landlord shall, within thirty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the letting of premises after such commencement, within thirty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Authority in Form B, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees. (2) The Authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No landlord shall carry on the letting of premises unless registered under this section.
