STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The possession of land by persons in possession of land under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the Home Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the possession of land by persons in possession of land.
2. The matter has been examined. Every person in possession of land carrying on the possession of land shall make an application in Form 3 to the Revenue Divisional Officer within thirty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Revenue Divisional Officer within thirty days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Home Department, Government of Odisha.
