STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Environment Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of Government land on lease by lessees of Government land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of Government land carrying on the holding of Government land on lease shall make an application in Form 12 to the Land Tribunal within ninety days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within ninety days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Environment Department, Government of Gujarat.
