STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land in excess of the ceiling by holders of land in excess of the ceiling.

2. The matter has been examined. Every holder of land in excess of the ceiling carrying on the holding of land in excess of the ceiling shall make an application in Form 3 to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Land Tribunal within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Odisha.
