STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Development Officers,

Subject: Fishing in a village tank by lessees of a village fishery under the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Andhra Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1994 (Andhra Pradesh Act 13 of 1994), the Social Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to fishing in a village tank by lessees of a village fishery.

2. The matter has been examined. Every lessee of a village fishery carrying on fishing in a village tank shall make an application in Form 7 to the Gram Panchayat within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Panchayat Development Officer shall ensure that demand notice is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Social Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.
