STANDING ORDER

To

All Tahsildars,

Subject: The grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the grazing of cattle on Government waste land by graziers on Government waste land.

2. The matter has been examined. Every grazier on Government waste land carrying on the grazing of cattle on Government waste land shall make an application in Form 8 to the State Government within seven days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Tahsildar shall ensure that land revenue receipt is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Commercial Taxes Department, Government of Odisha.
