STANDING ORDER

To

All Panchayat Inspectors,

Subject: The collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the collection of Panchayat taxes by collectors of a Panchayat tax.

2. The matter has been examined. Every collector of a Panchayat tax carrying on the collection of Panchayat taxes shall make an application in Form 1 to the District Collector within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Panchayat Inspector shall ensure that register of buildings is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the District Collector within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
