STANDING ORDER

To

All Circles Inspector of Excise,

Subject: The manufacture of denatured spirit by manufacturers of denatured spirit under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the manufacture of denatured spirit by manufacturers of denatured spirit.

2. The matter has been examined. Every manufacturer of denatured spirit carrying on the manufacture of denatured spirit shall make an application in Form H to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of five thousand rupees.

3. The Circle Inspector of Excise shall ensure that licence is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Licensing Authority within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of West Bengal.
