STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Guards,

Subject: The wholesale vend of liquor by wholesale vendors under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the wholesale vend of liquor by wholesale vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every wholesale vendor carrying on the wholesale vend of liquor shall make an application in Form E to the Collector within fourteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Guard shall ensure that label is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within fourteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Transport Department, Government of West Bengal.
