STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Guards,

Subject: The keeping of a bonded warehouse by bonded warehouse keepers under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the keeping of a bonded warehouse by bonded warehouse keepers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every bonded warehouse keeper carrying on the keeping of a bonded warehouse shall make an application in Form E to the Collector within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.

3. The Excise Guard shall ensure that transport pass is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Collector within seven days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal.
