STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the Law Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 5 to the Board of Revenue within one hundred and eighty days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that patta is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Board of Revenue within one hundred and eighty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Odisha.
