STANDING ORDER

To

All Excise Inspectors,

Subject: The retail vend of liquor by retail vendors under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Energy Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the retail vend of liquor by retail vendors.

2. The matter has been examined. Every retail vendor carrying on the retail vend of liquor shall make an application in Form H to the Government of West Bengal within forty-five days, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees.

3. The Excise Inspector shall ensure that excisable article is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of West Bengal within forty-five days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Energy Department, Government of West Bengal.
