STANDING ORDER
To
All Block Development Officers,
Subject: The execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat under the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Uttar Pradesh Act 26 of 1947), the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the execution of works for a Panchayat by contractors engaged by a Panchayat.
2. The matter has been examined. Every contractor engaged by a Panchayat carrying on the execution of works for a Panchayat shall make an application in Form 2 to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees.
3. The Block Development Officer shall ensure that building is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Gram Panchayat within twenty-one days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Industries and Commerce Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
