STANDING ORDER
To
All Deputy Tahsildars,
Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the Law Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.
2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 12 to the State Government within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of two hundred rupees.
3. The Deputy Tahsildar shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within fifteen days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Law Department, Government of Odisha.
