Standing Order No. 2513/2006

STANDING ORDER

To

All Village Accountants,

Subject: The occupation of land by occupants under the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Odisha Survey and Settlement Act, 1959 (Odisha Act 3 of 1959), the General Administration Department, Government of Odisha hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the occupation of land by occupants.

2. The matter has been examined. Every occupant carrying on the occupation of land shall make an application in Form 7 to the State Government within sixty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Village Accountant shall ensure that record of rights is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the State Government within sixty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the General Administration Department, Government of Odisha.
