STANDING ORDER
To
All Excise Superintendents,
Subject: The working of a distillery by distillers under the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909, regarding.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the West Bengal Excise Act, 1909 (West Bengal Act 5 of 1909), the Excise Department, Government of West Bengal hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:
1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the working of a distillery by distillers.
2. The matter has been examined. Every distiller carrying on the working of a distillery shall make an application in Form F to the Government of West Bengal within seven days, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees.
3. The Excise Superintendent shall ensure that cask is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Government of West Bengal within seven days.
4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Excise Department, Government of West Bengal.
