STANDING ORDER

To

All Naib Tahsildars,

Subject: The holding of land by landholders under the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Gujarat Agricultural Lands Ceiling Act, 1961 (Gujarat Act 27 of 1961), the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the holding of land by landholders.

2. The matter has been examined. Every landholder carrying on the holding of land shall make an application in Form 7 to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Naib Tahsildar shall ensure that khasra is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Settlement Officer within one hundred and twenty days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Women and Child Development Department, Government of Gujarat.
