Section 9, Inheritance Act, 1839 [S10-TBK]
As at 7 September 2026. In force from 28 September 1839.
9. Power to issue directions.—(1) The Collector may, by order in writing, direct any person interested to take such measures in relation to the claiming of compensation as may be specified in the order, and such person shall comply with the direction within the period specified therein. (2) An order under sub-section (1) shall state the reasons on which it is made and shall be served on the person to whom it is addressed in such manner as may be prescribed.

Collector: Section 2, Inheritance Act, 1839 [S10T4D] (In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,—): "Collector" means the Collector of a district, and includes a Deputy Commissioner and any officer specially appointed by the appropriate Government to perform the functions of a Collector under this Act
