Section 1, Coast Guard Act, 1978 [S1Q-V76]
As at 8 September 2026. In force from 12 October 1978.
1. Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Coast Guard Act, 1978. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
