Section 1, Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876 [S2D-BX6]
As at 8 September 2026. In force from 8 September 1876.
1. Short title, extent and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Bengal Irrigation Act, 1876. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of West Bengal. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
