Section 2, Karnataka Prevention of Cow Slaughter and Cattle Preservation Act, 2021 [S2N-JTX]

2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "food" means any substance, whether processed, partially processed or unprocessed, which is intended for human consumption; (b) "Food Authority" means the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India established under section 4 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006); (c) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (d) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
