Section 4, Gujarat Electricity Industry (Reorganisation and Regulation) Act, 2003 [S2K-Z3E]

4. Registration of distribution licensees.—(1) Every distribution licensee shall, within thirty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the distribution of electricity after such commencement, within thirty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Appropriate Commission in Form II, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees. (2) The Appropriate Commission shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No distribution licensee shall carry on the distribution of electricity unless registered under this section.
