Section 2, Tamil Nadu Prohibition Act, 1937 [S2D-V3N]

2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "offence" means any act or omission made punishable by any law for the time being in force; (b) "Magistrate" means a Judicial Magistrate of the first class having jurisdiction in the area concerned; (c) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (d) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
