12. Procedure for travel abroad.—(1) Every citizen shall, before undertaking travel abroad, intimate the passport authority in writing, specifying the visa concerned and the period for which it is proposed to be undertaken. (2) The passport authority may, within ninety days of the receipt of the intimation, require the person to furnish such further particulars as it considers necessary.
