Section 39, Prevention of Blackmarketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 [S1R-8F7]

39. Registration of sellers.—(1) Every seller shall, within sixty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the sale of food after such commencement, within sixty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Food Authority in Form A, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees. (2) The Food Authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No seller shall carry on the sale of food unless registered under this section.
