Section 25, Prevention of Blackmarketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 [S1R-81V]

25. Registration of importers of food.—(1) Every importer of food shall, within fourteen days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the import of food after such commencement, within fourteen days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Food Authority in Form B, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees. (2) The Food Authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No importer of food shall carry on the import of food unless registered under this section.
