Section 18, Prevention of Blackmarketing and Maintenance of Supplies of Essential Commodities Act, 1980 [S1R-7TH]

18. Registration of distributors.—(1) Every distributor shall, within sixty days from the commencement of this Act or, where such person begins the distribution of food after such commencement, within sixty days from the date of such beginning, make an application for registration to the Food Authority in Form A, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees. (2) The Food Authority shall, on being satisfied that the application is in order, register the applicant and issue a certificate of registration in such form as may be prescribed. (3) No distributor shall carry on the distribution of food unless registered under this section.
