2. Definitions.—In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,— (a) "excisable article" means any alcoholic liquor for human consumption or any intoxicating drug; (b) "licence" means a licence granted under section 7; (c) "manufacture" includes every process, whether natural or artificial, by which any excisable article is produced or prepared; (d) "Commissioner" means the Commissioner appointed under section 3; (e) "transport" means to move from one place to another within the territory to which this Act extends; (f) "intoxicant" means any liquor or intoxicating drug; (g) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette, and the expression "notified" shall be construed accordingly; (h) "prescribed" means prescribed by rules made under this Act.
