STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Directors,

Subject: The carrying on of a self-employed occupation by self-employed persons under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 33 of 1982), the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the carrying on of a self-employed occupation by self-employed persons.

2. The matter has been examined. Every self-employed person carrying on the carrying on of a self-employed occupation shall make an application in Form 16 to the Standing Committee within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of fifty rupees.

3. The Deputy Director shall ensure that register of employees is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Standing Committee within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Finance Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
