STANDING ORDER

To

All Deputy Directors,

Subject: The receipt of wages in a covered establishment by employees under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 33 of 1982), the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to the receipt of wages in a covered establishment by employees.

2. The matter has been examined. Every employee carrying on the receipt of wages in a covered establishment shall make an application in Form 1 to the Medical Benefit Council within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Deputy Director shall ensure that contribution card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Medical Benefit Council within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
