STANDING ORDER

To

All Welfare Officers,

Subject: Home-based work for wages by home-based workers under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 33 of 1982), the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to home-based work for wages by home-based workers.

2. The matter has been examined. Every home-based worker carrying on home-based work for wages shall make an application in Form 16 to the Standing Committee within fifteen days, accompanied by a fee of ten rupees.

3. The Welfare Officer shall ensure that contribution card is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Standing Committee within fifteen days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
