STANDING ORDER

To

All Social Security Officers,

Subject: Registration with the Welfare Board by buildings worker registered with the Board under the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982, regarding.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9 of the Tamil Nadu Manual Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Work) Act, 1982 (Tamil Nadu Act 33 of 1982), the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu hereby issues the following Standing Order for the guidance of all officers subordinate to it:

1. References have been received seeking clarification on the manner in which section 9 applies to registration with the Welfare Board by buildings worker registered with the Board.

2. The matter has been examined. Every building worker registered with the Board carrying on registration with the Welfare Board shall make an application in Form 3 to the Welfare Board within twenty-one days, accompanied by a fee of one hundred rupees.

3. The Social Security Officer shall ensure that medical certificate is dealt with as directed above, and shall report compliance to the Welfare Board within twenty-one days.

4. Difficulties, if any, in the implementation of this standing order may be brought to the notice of the Labour Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
