Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the dealer shall apply to the Deputy Commissioner of Excise in Form H for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Deputy Commissioner of Excise shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within sixty days of the application.
