Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the holder of land shall apply to the Settlement Officer in Form 7 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Settlement Officer shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within seven days of the application.
