Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the proprietor shall apply to the Controller in Form 1 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of five hundred rupees, and the Controller shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within forty-five days of the application.
