Duplicate certificate.—Where a certificate of registration is lost, destroyed or defaced, the dealer shall apply to the State Transport Authority in Form 2 for a duplicate, accompanied by a fee of two thousand rupees, and the State Transport Authority shall issue a duplicate certificate marked as such within twenty-one days of the application.
