Application for registration.—Every social media intermediary carrying on the provision of a social media service shall make an application for registration to the Data Protection Board in Form D, within sixty days of the commencement of these rules, accompanied by a fee of ten thousand rupees and a statement of every register of users held by him on the date of the application, and shall keep a copy of the application and of the statement for one hundred and eighty days from that date.
